Bass Pro Shops Now Open in Irvine
Irvine natives and travelers from afar are buzzing about the much anticipated Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World at Alton Marketplace in the Irvine Spectrum District. More than 10,000 people per day stopped by to see the new store during opening weekend, which feels less like a store and more like a giant playground. Novices and professionals alike will find what they need in their camping, archery, fishing, and boating departments — and many more! The store is open every day from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The 140,000-square-foot haven for outdoor enthusiasts offers an immersive experience with museum-quality aquariums, local antiques, artifacts and wildlife dioramas and murals. The store features hand painted artwork depicting iconic Orange County nature scenes, including Limestone Canyon, Black Star Canyon, and Newport Beach. The retailer also sells ATVs and Tracker boats.
The Irvine location, chosen for its proximity to America’s largest urban open space network, also focuses on community engagement through workshops and events aimed at fostering outdoor skills and conservation. Founded by Johnny Morris, dubbed “The Walt Disney of the Outdoors,” Bass Pro Shops connects people with nature.
“We are proud to be here in your community and look forward to many, many years of fun,” said Bob Ziehmer, senior director of conservation.
The store is located at 71 Technology Drive West, just off I-5, in the Irvine Spectrum District.
